When to Visit Neukirchen

Neukirchen is stunning year-round, but it’s good to plan according to what you want to do. For hiking, the best time to come is from June to September when the trails are open, and the mountains are in full bloom. If you’re here for winter sports, things usually kick off in late November  when the snow season starts.

Keep in mind that most of the trails close from November to April, but that’s when the area becomes a winter wonderland. So, if you’re into skiing or snowboarding, you’re in luck!

Dig Into Austrian Food

You can’t come to Austria and not try the food! Treat yourself to classics like Kaiserschmarrn (a fluffy shredded pancake), Apple Strudel, and Wiener Schnitzel. If you’re looking for a hearty lunch, go for a Brettljause—a wooden board filled with cold cuts, cheese, pickles, and spreads. And yes, you’ll want to order that Apple Strudel with cream and ice cream—you won’t regret it.
